A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss emails because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a typographical error. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of junk email messages, but this issue can be resolved using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also essential to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound email messages to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

Creating a catch-all mailbox will be truly easy if you have a shared website hosting with us. You can enable this feature through our powerful, yet user-friendly Email Manager tool, which is part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage your hosting account. You’ll find all the mailboxes that you’ve created enumerated in alphabetical order and next to each one there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly reveal to you whether a specific mailbox gets all the emails associated with a certain domain or not. With a single click on the icon you can activate or deactivate the feature whenever you want. If there is active email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a given domain name, you’ll get a notification from our system. The latter will not disable/replace anything automatically and without your consent.
